Leicester City's Player of the Year Jack Hobbs believes the Foxes' have the ability to cause serious problems to whoever they come up against this season providing they make a successful transition to Paulo Sousa's style of play.
City romped to a 5-1 victory against League One Peterborough on Tuesday, and Hobbs believes if City can replicate those kind of performances throughout the season they can try to emulate last season's fifth place Championship finish,
"I'm really enjoying the new style of football and the new ideas. I'm pleased to be playing out from the back, we've got the players to do it and we showed against Peterborough that when we get it right we can cut teams apart.
Obviously it takes time to get used to new ideas, but everyday we're improving and we will strive to get to what the gaffer is after."
Hobbs missed just two of City's league games last season and is likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet this time around. But for other players the arrival of Paulo Sousa represents a fresh opportunity to stake a claim for a regular birth.
The likes of Robbie Neilson and Nicky Adams had limited chances to shine last term, but Hobbs says they now have a great chance to impress the new boss.
"It's a clean slate for everyone, and we all start on a level playing field and you've got to prove yourself.
The lads that might not have played last season have got a fresh challenge and can really give themselves a chance of playing and show the gaffer what they can do."
Hobbs had the honour of leading City out in the Championship play-offs last season, and has skippered the side in some of their pre-season friendly games. The 21 year old would be pleased to be given the same responsibility in the 2010-11 campaign.
"I'd be absolutely chuffed to get the armband, but Oaksy (Matt Oakley) is a great leader and he captains the side really well. I'm happy to be under his wing but if I'm chosen to be captain I'd be delighted.
