Berner: ‘We Will Not Hide’

Posted on: Mon 23 Aug 2010

Now time for three points! That is the attitude of City favourite, Bruno Berner, as he looks ahead to Saturday's tough trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Clarets will provide a stiff test for City, but Berner is confident that the spirit in the camp, coupled with the fine displays so far, means the Foxes are not going there with any negative thoughts.

"All the first few games are tests, but Burnley is definitely within our reach. We will not hide from anyone on Saturday, we will continue our attacking play, be very disciplined at the back and try to build up a strong game.

"It is time now to get our first three points."

Carrying on from where he left off last season, as a consistent performer, Berner acknowledges that there is still room for improvement as the new boss continues to instil his methods to his new charges:

"Our standard has been high but there is room to improve, which is what we are trying to do week in and week out and obviously with the way we played against Middlesbrough on Saturday, we felt we deserved more than the draw.

"There are so many different ways, there is no right or wrong way, it is just a philosophy and we all listen to the Gaffer and try to adapt to his style of football.

We have seen already a lot of progress, but we all know there is a lot more to come.

For me, it is no different, I take on those games full of confidence like I did here in the last two seasons.

His style of management is something I am more used to, but the approach for myself is no different."
