For one of City's goalkeepers, the international break has come at a good time.
For another it's not so good perhaps, as City's Conrad Logan may have been hoping for some more first-team appearances in Chris Weale's absence through injury.
On the other hand, the two-week interval means Weale has had time to recover without missing any action. Competition has also been intensified in that department, through the arrival of Carl Ikeme on an emergency loan from Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Logan, the man currently in possession of the keeper's jersey, said: "Obviously when you are in the side you want to keep playing, but for Chris the break has come at a good time because he could be fit and ready for the next game."
Logan, who was a patient understudy to Weale during last season, is hopeful of retaining his starting place.
"You never know and I have got to remain focused. For every game, even if he is fit, you have to be ready for anything that might happen during the match.
Already this season I have played in more games than I expected because as the number two you don't envisage getting many chances.
If the opportunity comes along again, I have got to be ready to take it."
