Robbie Ready For Coventry Clash

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010

Leicester City's Scottish full-back, Robbie Neilson, feels that the international break could work in the club's favour as they prepare to face local rivals, Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

"The break gives the manager an opportunity to work on a few alternatives, with shape, and hopefully we can learn a few things and play the way that he wants us to."

Whilst the team have had a difficult start to the season, the former Hearts man feels that just a few mistakes have cost them and hopes to put that right at the weekend.

"We've been playing well in periods, without the results. We've made some errors and it's about stopping that and starting to win games.

The manager has been working on high tempo football and always looking to attack and press the opposition. Hopefully we can do that on Saturday."

Preparations for the M69 derby clash have been slightly different too, due to the 12.30pm kick-off, as Robbie explained to lcfc.com.

"It can be difficult because you are used to playing on a Saturday and Tuesday, but we are preparing well for the game and have trained at times according to the earlier kick-off."

Having experienced Edinburgh derby matches, Neilson is no stranger to the intensified atmosphere of these games and the full-back expects to face a fully-committed Sky Blues side.

"It's a derby game, so it's going to be high tempo. They pack the midfield, work hard and they are a good team. We're going to go there and try to win the game after a difficult start to the season."
