Leicester City lost at Turf Moor for only the second time in 32 years, as they were beaten 3-0 by Burnley on a difficult afternoon in Lancashire for Paulo Sousa's team.

A deflected goal in first half stoppage time from Ross Wallace changed the game, before second half goals for Chris Iwelumo and a Graham Alexander penalty ensured Burnley's unbeaten start to the season continued.

For City, they have now picked up just one point from their opening three league games, and have conceded three goals in both of their away games so far.

Paulo Sousa made one change to the side that started the goalless draw with Middlesbrough, with Dany N'Guessan earning a recall at the expense of Lloyd Dyer who wasn't in the squad. Franck Moussa and Leon Crncic both started on the bench, but Matty Fryatt wasn't involved.

City flew out of the blocks at the start of the game and could have been in front within a minute as Dany N'Guessan broke the offside trap, but was denied at the near post by Brian Jensen.

Burnley had the ball in the net, five minutes in when defender Andre Bikey powered in a header from a right wing corner. But the referee had spotted some shirt pulling in the build up and the goal was chalked off.

The home side again posed an aerial threat a minute later, and Moreno did well to head clear Wallace's right wing cross, with Iwelumo ready to pounce just behind him.

Eighteen minutes in DJ Campbell should've given Leicester the lead when he read Steve Howard's flick on, got in behind Bikey, only to fire over the bar from twelve yards.

After Campbell's miss, Burnley had a good spell which saw Wade Elliott's long range effort saved by Chris Weale before Jack Hobbs did well to turn behind a low Danny Fox cross. Fox then almost scored a couple of minutes later his cross-shot almost dropping in at the back post.

Dany N'Guessan then fashioned a couple of half chances for City either side of the half hour, firstly his shot from outside the box was deflected wide, and then his header from Neilson's cross went harmlessly over the bar.

Three minutes before the break Leicester were forced to replace their goalkeeper when Conrad Logan came on for Chris Weale who was injured in an earlier collision with Andre Bikey.

Logan's first task was to pick the ball out of his net in first half stoppage time as Burnley hit the front. Ross Wallace's long range effort took a huge deflection off Moreno and looped past Logan into the net, the hosts led at half time but only thanks to a huge slice of good fortune.

After the re-start the game took a while to get going, and Burnley created the first chance of the second half, when Chris Iwelumo's downwards header from a right wing cross was easily saved by Logan.

Just before the hour mark, Richie Wellens' left wing cross, proved just too heavy for Steve Howard, who couldn't connect at the back-post.

Moreno then came to Leicester's rescue, when a long ball over the top wasn't dealt with first time by the City defence and the Portuguese defender got in a crucial block on Iwelumo's close range volley.

Iwelumo was not to be denied for long though, as Wallace turned provider to help Burnley double their advantage. Wallace's left wing run and cross found his fellow Scotsman Iwelumo who headed in at the back post.

With seventeen minutes to go, Burnley were awarded a penalty when Michael Lamey tripped Chris Eagles in the box. Graham Alexander stepped up and found the corner of the net for 3-0.

Leicester introduced Franck Moussa for a debut with ten minutes to go, and with his first touch he provided a chance. His right wing cross was headed wide by DJ Campbell.

Moussa then went close to scoring on his debut, when fellow sub Michael Lamey's clever right wing cut back found the former Southend man, who hit a fierce right footed drive just over the bar.
