Initially signed on a five-month loan deal from Fulham, Leicester City secured the services of Elvis Hammond permanently on transfer deadline day in August 2005.
Hammond, who had been with the Cottagers since the age of 16, will cost Leicester up to £350,000.
Born in Ghana, the frontman has exceptional pace and made an immediate impact coming on as sub in the first three games of the 2005/06 season.
He made his first start in the 2-2 draw at Crewe, hitting a post late on in the game, and kept his place for the subsequent Carling Cup tie at Bury, which they won 3-0.
First team opportunities were limited for Hammond at Fulham where he made just 13 appearances - only three of which were from the start - and he had loan spells with Bristol Rovers and Norwich before spending time in Holland.
He scored twice in 14 matches for RBC Roosendaal, who play in the top division of Dutch football.
Elvis grabbed his first City goal in the 2-1 home defeat at the hands of QPR in September 2005. He was also on target in the 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup third round tie later that season. He got off for mark for the 2006-07 Championship campaign in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham at St Andrews.
Hammond was placed on the transfer list by former manager Martin Allen on Monday, June 4 2007.
