Republic of Ireland under 21 winger Jonathan Hayes joined the Foxes from Reading in July 2007.
Hayes spent the back end of the 2005-06 season on loan at Milton Keynes Dons, before signing a three-year contract with City.
Hayes made 13 appearances for Milton Keynes in total - and has also had loan spells at Forest Green and Chesterfield.
The player made his City debut as a substitute in their opening game of the Championship campaign against Blackpool.
Hayes joined Northampton Town on loan in January 2008 and made a total of 11 appearances during his four month stay. He then joined Cheltenham Town on loan in October, 2008.
