Nigel Pearson paid Bury £100,000 to bring midfielder Nicky Adams to the club in the summer of 2008 after the Manchester born man played nearly one hundred games for Bury between 2005 and 2008.
Adams enjoyed a dream debut for Bury in October 2005, he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Darlington at Gigg Lane. Adams went on to make eighteen appearances for the Shakers that season.
In the 2007-08 campaign, Adams had an excellent season for Bury, missing only three league games and scoring thirteen goals in all competitions.
Before the start of the 2010-11 campaign Adams had only started five games for City, and had spent loan spells at Rochdale and Leyton Orient.
Adams wanted a fresh start under new Foxes' boss Paulo Sousa, and during the club's pre-season tour of Slovenia, Adams was given a go at right back.
