Young left-back Joe Mattock made his Leicester City debut as a second half substitute in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Norwich City at the Walkers Stadium in April 2007. The player went on to make his full debut in the 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City before starting in the victories over Preston North End at Deepdale and at Barnsley a week later.

Mattock was born in Leicester and grew up in the Eyres Monsell area of the City. He has represented England at under 15, 16, 17, 19 and 21 level.

The youngster started Leicester's first game of the 2007-08 season against Blackpool at the Walkers Stadium. He went on to make a total of 33 apearances for the Foxes during the campaign and has overcome injury to be a regular part of Nigel Pearson's side that set about gaining promotion back to the Championship.  

Predominantly a left back, Mattock has also been known to fill in on the left hand side of midfield.

An exciting player with a real turn of foot, he is very much seen as a player with a big future in the game.
