Luke O'Neill made the step-up to the first-team squad when he was named as a substitute against Stockport County in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, August 12 2008.
The 17-year old follows in the footsteps of recent academy graduates to make the leap after impressing for the under-18 side in the right-back position.
O'Neill, born in Slough, has also represented England at under-17 level.
He made his Foxes debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at Hartlepool on Tuesday, September 2 2008 at the age of 17 years and 13 days and he formed part of a defence that included Chris Powell, who was aged 38 years and 360 days.
