A cultured technician and an established Japanese international, Yuki joined City from Urawa Red Diamonds before the close of the August transfer window in 2010 and quickly adapted to the physical nature of the English game.
A defensive midfielder with great passing ability, Yuki impressed at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, playing in all four of his country's games as Japan progressed to the last 16 of the tournament.
Abe is a product of JEF United's youth academy and becomes the first Japanese player to play for Leicester City.
After nine seasons at JEF United and two J-League Cup titles, Yuki was signed by Urawa Reds in 2007 for a reported £2.6m, at the time the highest transfer fee ever paid for a Japanese player in a domestic deal.
Yuki made his Leicester City debut against Cardiff City in an npower Championship fixture on Tuesday September 14.
