Jordan has firmly established himself in the first team squad and blossomed as a player over the last three seasons.
He really broke through in the First Division promotion campaign of 2002/03. He scored the first ever goal at the Walkers Stadium, in a pre-season friendly with Athletic Bilbao, and chalked up his first league goal in September at Wimbledon.
He made 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring further goals against Millwall, Rotherham and in the promotion-clincher against Brighton.
Jordan was just 17 when he got his first outing for the senior side. An injury crisis, with 11 regulars sidelined, saw the young winger named among the subs by Martin O'Neill for the match with West Ham in January 2000. He came on in the second half but subsequently suffered a back injury which prevented him getting near the first team for 18 months.
He has been employed in a variety of different positions throughout the team - left back, central midfield and left wing.
Jordan came through the youth ranks at Aston Villa before linking up with the Leicester Academy in 1998. He got his first taste of league football when he was loaned out to Bristol Rovers the following season.
The former Young Player of the Year played 25 times in the 2003/04 Premiership season and his only goal was a wonderful strike in the 3-0 win at Manchester City. The sweetly-struck long range effort curled into the far corner to set Leicester on the road to victory.
He continued to be a regular fixture in the first team throughout the 2004/05 campaign, making 35 Championship appearances.
In the 2000/01 season he got his first taste of international football when drafted into the England under 18 squad and two years later was called up for the under 21s, coming on as a second half substitute against Portugal.
International Honours: England U21, U18
