Leicester City FC have a well developed Academy programme in conjunction with Loughborough College for the 16 - 18 year age range. The programme was devised to offer female players the opportunity to continue to receive a high level of coaching and football whilst also gaining those all important educational qualifications after leaving school.

Now starting its fourth year the programme has evolved and encompasses a fantastic football programme incorporating all of the key elements of becoming a top female player. All fitness components are delivered including strength training, Speed endurance, SAQ (Speed, agility, quickness), Power, Acceleration, Core stability.

We also ensure the players receive plenty of ballwork activities to include technical components and tactical components that will help players back at their clubs on Sundays.

The matchday programme is on Wednesdays competing in the London AFA league against teams such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Bristol, Ipswich, Millwall and Charlton, some of the leading Senior female clubs in the country. College timetables fit around the football programme where matchdays and training are concerned to enable players to get the most out of both. As this is an educational programme it does not stop you or affect your Sunday league side and you are not required to play for Leicester City WFC to be involved at our Academy.

Training takes place at brand new facilities at the College utilising a new gym, 3G rubber Crumb pitch, Physiotherapy suite, changing and classroom facilities by the pitch all to aid the best possible environment for the player to learn.

On the education side applicants can apply with a variety of GCSE grades as there are courses available from 1 year Foundation Level or Higher dependant on grades. Please see the college website for further details www.loucoll.ac.uk

Our coaches also look to deliver several key coaching courses such as the FA Level 1 certificate in Coaching Football, FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football, FA Coaching Disabled Footballers and online FA Level 1 Psychology module plus others to help raise the players qualifications further.

Successful applicants receive all training wear and have a 2 UEFA B Licenced experienced coaches with enhanced CRB and in date qualifications plus access to specialist coaches and Chartered Physiotherapist at their disposal.

Loughborough College is also a Charter Standard College meeting all necessary requirements for that status.
