DAVE RENNIE - HEAD OF PHYSIO
dave-rennieAfter initially obtaining a degree in Sports Science from the University of Surrey, Dave re-trained in Physiotherapy and graduated from the University of Nottingham with first class honours in 1994.

He worked at the Leicester Royal Infirmary before moving to the Derby Gait Analysis Laboratory in 1998. During his time at both institutions he was able to specialise in sport - working with the Leicester Tigers, the England Women's Netball Team, the English Schools Badminton Association and the British Triathlon Association.

He joined Leicester City in 1999 and became Head Physiotherapist a year later.

Dave is responsible for physio treatment of all of the professional players. His main duties include prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all professional players at the club.

He is currently involved in a number of research areas, including Aetiology of injuries in Professional Football.

Dave has presented his research at National and international meetings with a number of articles being published.

TOM FREEMAN - ASSISTANT PHYSIO

tom-freemanAfter completing his Physiotherapy degree at Nottingham University in 1998, Tom practiced for the NHS. He also spent three years working part-time for a local semi-professional rugby team.

In 2001 he joined Leicester City Football Club, initially working as Assistant Academy Physiotherapist, before becoming Head Academy Physiotherapist in 2002. A year later he began working in his current role as Assistant First Team Physiotherapist.

Tom's main duties include assisting Dave Rennie in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injured First Team and Reserve Team players and providing medical cover at all First and Reserve Team matches.

DR IAN PATCHETT - CLUB DOCTOR

Ian Patchett qualified from Leicester University Medical School in 1984. He works part-time as a G.P. in Leicester, and part-time for University Hospitals of Leicester doing minor surgery. He obtained the Diploma in Sports and Ecercise Medicine from Bath University in 2000.

He started helping Dr Tony Jarvis with match cover in 1992, and then took over as club medical officer when Dr Jarvis retired in 2000. Duties involve attending the training ground three times per week to see any general medical problems, medicals for new signings, and medical cover for first team, reserves, and under 18 teams. He is assisted by Dr John Heaton, another Leicester G.P. with an interest in sports medicine.

KEITH BURLAND - HEAD ACADEMY PHYSIO

Keith joined LCFC in October 2003 as Head Academy Physiotherapist.He qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in1995 from Pinderfields College of Physiotherapy.Since then he has worked in various settings including the NHS, private practice and worked for five years with Barnsley Rugby Union Football Club.

Keith is responsible for the overall physiotherapy provision for Academy players aged nine to 19. This includes the management of 10 part-time Physiotherapists.

GUY ROGERS - ASSIATANT ACADEMY PHYSIO

Guy joined LCFC in November 2009 as an academy physiotherapist. He trained at Leeds Metropolitan University where he gained a BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science degree before going on to study a masters in Physiotherapy.

Since qualifying in January 2009 he has worked in the NHS at Loughborough Hospital, a job to which he still retains. Furthermore, he brings previous experience having worked for Birmingham City FC and Derby University Rugby Union.

Guy works in collaboration with the other academy physiotherapists and is responsible for the physio treatment of all academy players. His main duties include the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of any injuries.

Other roles include providing and co-ordinating the pitch-side medical support on match days and during training sessions.

WAYNE ROBERTS - ACADEMY PHYSIO

Wayne began working for LCFC in August 2008 as an Academy physiotherapist.His role primarily entails assessing and rehabilitating Academy players back to full match fitness.

Other duties include coordinating part-time physiotherapists on match days and providing pitch side medical support to Academy teams on both match days and during training sessions.

Prior to working at LCFC, Wayne worked as a rotational physiotherapist within one of the largest NHS trusts in the country. His responsibilities entailed assessing and treating a number of patients across a variety of medical disciplines and supporting junior staff.

During his time as a rotational physiotherapist Wayne was also able to incorporate and deliver a range of exercise and rehabilitation classes using knowledge and skills gained from completing a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science.
