Leicester City Academy Education

Education

Academies must provide a significant education programme for all players, in line with the requirements of the EPPP, and Leicester City Football Club recognises that education plays an important role in player development.

Players are continually monitored academically, with continuous liaison with schools including six-week reports for players and parents to monitor grade progress, behaviour and attitude to learning.

Educational facilities, with tutor specific-support for English, Maths and Science, are provided on a daily basis during our curriculum programme for day-release players.

For those who are accepted onto our scholarship programme at 16-years-old, education plays a key role in the development of each individual. Players’ academic capabilities are assessed and support mechanisms are put in place to follow a learning pathway suitable to each individual’s needs.

Loughborough College, with a rich experience of delivering elite sports programmes, delivers our League Football Education programme, encompassing NVQ in Sporting Excellence and BTEC National Diploma in Sports Performance & Excellence - including key skills – Maths and English.
