Training ground

Academy players at Leicester City Football Club are given an unrivalled insight into life as a professional footballer immediately in their careers, as they are fortunate enough to utilise the same facility as the First Team squad.

Significant investment has also been made to maintain and improve the quality of facilities on offer at the Club’s training complex to supplement the work of all areas of Leicester City - from Academy through to the First Team.

This investment emphasises the commitment of the Club and its management to providing the best possible foundations for the players and also for the coaches to be able to provide first-class training programmes at Belvoir Drive.

The training complex includes a gym, fitness suite, changing rooms, indoor area and training pitches and a number of improvements continue to be made in accordance with the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).

Some of the improvements made in recent years include:

- Self-contained, outdoor, state-of-the-art floodlit 3G playing surface to full-size pitch specifications
- Age-specific pitches
- 11 newly-built dressing rooms
- Classroom facilities
- Analysis suites
- Sports Science facilities
- Show pitch with designated spectator areas
- Parents’ Lounge

The complex also has an indoor facility that is unrivalled throughout Leicestershire. Providing an all-weather solution to players of all ages, the 80x56m 3G surface measures three-quarters of a full-size football pitch.
