Danny Ward signed for the Club from Liverpool on 20 July, 2018 during the same window which also saw Jonny Evans, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira and Çağlar Söyüncü join at King Power Stadium.
A Foxes bow
The Welshman made his debut for City shortly afterwards, keeping a clean sheet on Filbert Way, as goals from Christian Fuchs, Vicente Iborra, Kelechi Iheanacho and Rachid Ghezzal sealed a 4-0 success over Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.
Heroics in Wolverhampton
Ward saved three penalties in a shootout success over Wolves at Molineux, including one stunning stop to deny Adama Traore, as the Foxes reached the fourth round of the 2018/19 Carabao Cup.
More penalty shootout success
He was there again, too, to make a decisive penalty save, denying Manolo Gabbiadini, as the Foxes edged past Southampton, following a 0-0 draw, to advance into the fifth round of the competition in late November 2018.
Now under the management of Brendan Rodgers, who Ward worked with at Liverpool, Leicester impressed during the 2019/20 Carabao Cup too. The run began with the ex-Reds shot-stopper keeping another clean sheet in the 4-0 triumph over Luton Town on 24 September, 2019.
FA Cup exploits
Ward was also a key figure in Leicester's 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup run, securing another shutout for the Foxes in a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic on 4 January, 2020, with Tom Pearce's own goal being added to by Harvey Barnes before the interval.
A clean sheet in the capital
Another game without conceding allowed City to secure safe passage with a 1-0 victory at Brentford on 25 January, 2020, with Kelechi Iheanacho getting the only goal of the tie at Griffin Park.
Alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Eldin Jakupović, Danny quickly became a senior and respected member of the Club's goalkeeper contingent, offering advice and daily tutelage to Leicester's younger shot-stoppers.
After a UEFA Europa League debut at Zorya Luhansk, Ward also starred for the Foxes in a 2-0 success over AEK Athens on Filbert Way in December 2020, which was ultimately enough for the already-qualified Foxes to seal top spot in Group G.
Beating Brentford again
He was between the sticks once more for Leicester in January 2021 as Brendan Rodgers' men registered a 3-1 comeback win over Brentford at the Sky Bet Championship club's new Brentford Community Stadium.
Leicester's FA Cup run
Another outing en route to this Sunday's FA Cup Semi-Final tie saw Ward unbeaten in a dramatic 1-0 success over Brighton & Hove Albion, as Kelechi Iheanacho's last-gasp header kept the Club's cup hopes alive.
On the international stage
Most of Ward's caps for Wales have come during his time as a Fox, most recently in a 1-0 FIFA World Cup qualifying victory over Czech Republic.
