The Welshman made his debut for City shortly afterwards, keeping a clean sheet on Filbert Way, as goals from Christian Fuchs, Vicente Iborra, Kelechi Iheanacho and Rachid Ghezzal sealed a 4-0 success over Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.

Heroics in Wolverhampton
Ward saved three penalties in a shootout success over Wolves at Molineux, including one stunning stop to deny Adama Traore, as the Foxes reached the fourth round of the 2018/19 Carabao Cup.

He was there again, too, to make a decisive penalty save, denying Manolo Gabbiadini, as the Foxes edged past Southampton, following a 0-0 draw, to advance into the fifth round of the competition in late November 2018.

Cup progress
Now under the management of Brendan Rodgers, who Ward worked with at Liverpool, Leicester impressed during the 2019/20 Carabao Cup too. The run began with the ex-Reds shot-stopper keeping another clean sheet in the 4-0 triumph over Luton Town on 24 September, 2019.

FA Cup exploits
Ward was also a key figure in Leicester's 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup run, securing another shutout for the Foxes in a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic on 4 January, 2020, with Tom Pearce's own goal being added to by Harvey Barnes before the interval.

A clean sheet in the capital
Another game without conceding allowed City to secure safe passage with a 1-0 victory at Brentford on 25 January, 2020, with Kelechi Iheanacho getting the only goal of the tie at Griffin Park.

Alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Eldin Jakupović, Danny quickly became a senior and respected member of the Club's goalkeeper contingent, offering advice and daily tutelage to Leicester's younger shot-stoppers.

After a UEFA Europa League debut at Zorya Luhansk, Ward also starred for the Foxes in a 2-0 success over AEK Athens on Filbert Way in December 2020, which was ultimately enough for the already-qualified Foxes to seal top spot in Group G.

He was between the sticks once more for Leicester in January 2021 as Brendan Rodgers' men registered a 3-1 comeback win over Brentford at the Sky Bet Championship club's new Brentford Community Stadium.
