The Foxes’ friendly schedule will see them face Queens Park Rangers in their penultimate pre-season fixture on Saturday at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, following earlier away clashes with Burton Albion and Wycombe Wanderers.
Friday, albeit in rainy conditions, enabled Rodgers and his coaching staff to deliver specific tactics for the QPR game, as well as further boosting the squad’s fitness in anticipation of several important matches on the horizon.
After a heavy downpour in the warm-up, conditions eventually improved, although Storm Evert still brought with it blustery gales and summer showers throughout the Foxes' final session south east England.
While the focus will naturally be on QPR and then Villarreal – City’s only pre-season fixture at King Power Stadium – attentions will gradually turn to the FA Community Shield clash with Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday 7 August, and then their Premier League opener versus Wolverhampton Wanderers a week later.
Manager Rodgers told LCFC TV after his side’s week in Surrey: "It's been first class. I've been [here] a number of times with teams. It's a very private complex to come and do your work and it’s been great for us all week.
"It's just accumulating the training sessions and gaining that fitness. The players have come back in really good condition, but of course, you're trying to get them, in terms of their football fitness, up to a good level. I think the biggest thing at this stage of the season is about attitude and application and the players have always been fantastic in my time here in both those attributes."
Saturday’s friendly versus QPR (3pm kick-off) will be streamed live on LCFC.com and YouTube from 2:30pm, while tickets for their final pre-season match, against Villarreal on Wednesday (7:45pm kick-off), are on general sale.
All times BST.
