- Ricardo Pereira says Leicester City will need to be at their best to secure three Premier League points this weekend
- The Foxes head to Burnley on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off)
- Sean Dyche’s men currently sit 17th in the table, two points above the drop zone
- Ricardo believes City are at a crucial stage of the 2018/19 season
The Foxes head to Lancashire on the back of an impressive 3-1 triumph over Fulham last weekend, which came courtesy of Youri Tielemans’ maiden Premier League goal and a historic brace from Jamie Vardy.
Ricardo, consistent throughout his debut campaign in England, knows Burnley will be fighting for a victory as they look to secure their top flight status, but insisted City will only concentrate on their own display.
“I heard it’s a difficult pitch to play away with their fans, their way of playing,” Ricardo said of Saturday’s fixture. “It will be for sure a difficult game and we have to be in our best to bring the three points.
“We have our objectives, we need to get points too. Of course, it’s more difficult for them, but we have to think of us and play with freedom and enjoy our game, but always in our head that we want to win and to get points in this part of the season.”
With only eight Premier League games to play this term, the Portugal international, who has scored twice and set up a further six goals for the Foxes in 2018/19, believes there is added importance to this weekend’s match.

“We know it’s important to win games, to take points in this part of the season at home,” said Ricardo of the win against Fulham. “We are happy with our game, with the win, and we look forward to keep going like this.
“It’s important for the fans especially at home that we win, that we make good plays and you play well and give them pleasure to watch our game and to win the game.”
