The 26-year-old was suspended for City’s 2-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth at King Power Stadium two weeks ago, while he was absent for the 4-1 win at Huddersfield Town following the birth of his daughter.

Back in contention to appear for the Foxes when Brendan Rodgers’ men host Newcastle United on Friday evening, Maguire has been delighted with the form of his team-mates in recent weeks.

“I missed one game through suspension and then obviously the birth of my daughter, but it’s good watching them do really well,” he said on Wednesday afternoon, speaking at the Club's Belvoir Drive training ground.

Brendan Rodgers' in-form Leicester City side were hard at work at Belvoir Drive ahead of Friday night's fixture at King Power Stadium.

“I want to be part of it, I want to be involved and I’m looking forward to Friday. You’ve seen over the last four games that we’ve started to pick up results that we feel our performances have warranted.

“We’re scoring the first goal in a lot of games which is really important for ourselves and then we can kick on and go and get a second and third like we have done in the last game.

“The performances have been really good and I think that in every game, we’ve deserved to win the game and I think that’s very pleasing.”

[Rodgers] breeds confidence into players. I think you’ll see from the younger players, he’ll bring them through, he’s an excellent coach.

Maguire has also been delighted with the impact made by Rodgers since the Northern Irishman took charge at the Club in February, with four wins from five propelling City to seventh in the Premier League.

“It’s been really positive, a really good coach who will improve us as a team massively, he’ll improve individuals massively as well,” he added.

“It has shown really great ambition from us in luring him here from such a big club like Celtic, but no it’s a great ambition for our Club to now have him here and hopefully we can push on.

“He breeds confidence into players. I think you’ll see from the younger players, he’ll bring them through, he’s an excellent coach.

“He does a lot of work on the training pitch and his man management is really top. It’s something that he sees, he takes it away from players, he makes decisions himself.

“You look back on it and it probably is the right decision, but it’s something that he has brought to the Club really well and it has made a really big impact.”
