Last Day To Nominate For Inaugural Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Outstanding Community Award

- The first-ever Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Outstanding Community Award will be presented to one recipient at the Football Club’s End of Season Dinner in May
- The award will honour extraordinary people from Leicestershire who have gone the extra mile to better the lives of others through selfless acts of kindness
- Applications will be accepted between Wednesday 17 April and Tuesday 23 April
- Once selected by a panel at the Football Club, the winner will be invited to spend the End of Season Dinner in the company of Leicester City stars and to receive the award

Our beloved late Chairman, who meant so much to the people of Leicester, was one of five victims of a tragic helicopter crash in October 2018.

In life, Khun Vichai pledged £4M to help local charities better the lives of local people, while his most recent gift of £1M will help to fund medical research at the University of Leicester.

While many of his acts of kindness are well documented, Khun Vichai regularly offered private support to more modest causes in the city, with no desire for public recognition.

He cared deeply about the people of Leicestershire and it is that generosity of spirit which has inspired the establishment of the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Outstanding Community Award.

Between 17 and 23 April, people from across Leicestershire are invited to nominate anyone – from volunteers to community leaders, colleagues to neighbours – who have gone the extra mile or made personal sacrifices to enhance the lives of others through acts of kindness.

The first-ever recipient of the award, meanwhile, will be invited to Leicester City’s End of Season Dinner on Tuesday 7 May.

The event will see Foxes stars join guests for a four-course dinner at King Power Stadium as the season’s best players and moments are celebrated with a glamorous awards ceremony.

You can nominate anyone to receive the award. It could be for a single act of kindness, a lifetime of dedication to a particular cause or for inspirational charitable campaigning.

The panel will look for applications including, but not limited to, the following criteria:

- An individual who is a force for good within the local community and goes the extra mile to help other people
- Somebody who has exhibited extraordinary kindness and generosity, either in day-to-day life or through charitable fundraising
- A group of people who have worked together in partnership to improve lives of disadvantaged people in Leicestershire
