The Foxes No.10 scored seven goals and created a further seven as he got his top-flight career off to a fine start in Leicester.

Encouraged by his side’s results against some of England’s most talented sides, Maddison knows he can reflect fondly upon the 2018/19 campaign.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Maddison said: “Since the gaffer (Brendan Rodgers) has come in, we’ve been brilliant at times. Especially the last three games, we look at those and people write us off and think we’re not going to get any points.

Maddison: Fans Have Been Fantastic

James Maddison told LCFC TV that the Blue Army have supported the Foxes every step of the way this season.

“We beat Arsenal, we drew with Chelsea and we could’ve got something at Manchester City, but it’s been a brilliant season and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s been a brilliant season with the lads, to integrate into the group and the fans have been fantastic.

“It’s a season I’ll look back on with fond memories, obviously my first in the Premier League and one I thoroughly enjoyed.”

Maddison was delighted to see Danny Simpson and Shinji Okazaki given fitting send-offs by the Blue Army, while he also credited the Club’s fans for their backing throughout the season.

They’ve been there with the highs, they’ve been there with the lows. We owe them so much respect, that’s why we go around and applaud each and every single one of them that stays and supports us.

“To repay them for their support has been fantastic,” added Maddison. “Obviously, we’ve had some highs this year and some extremely sad lows as well. They’ve been there through the thick and thin and throughout the whole time.

“They’ve been there with the highs, they’ve been there with the lows. We owe them so much respect, that’s why we go around and applaud each and every single one of them that stays and supports us.

“It’s fitting for Danny [Simpson] and Shinji [Okazaki] as well. They’ve been brilliant servants to the Club, Premier League winners and I can’t speak highly enough of both of them. They deserve to get their round of applause.”
