Elliott Congratulates City's PL Primary Stars Champions

Designed to give youngsters a chance to experience the life of a top-flight footballer, the Premier League Primary Stars football tournament saw 40 schools represent their clubs.
With prizes for two categories up for grabs, Under-11 mixed and Under-11 girls, Queensmead became the first girls team to win every game since the competition’s inception in 2006.
They overcame Watford, Southampton, Manchester United, Cardiff City and Arsenal before defeating Liverpool 3-1 on penalties in the final at Molineux Stadium to claim the title.
Leicester City Celebrates Its Primary Stars Winners
Leicester City legend Matt Elliott visited Queensmead Primary Academy last week to celebrate their Premier League Primary Stars win.
To mark the occasion and express the Club's pride in their superb achievements, Elliott, City's former captain, visited the Braunstone-based school last week.
As well as delivering a speech to the entire school, outlining the magnitude of their achievements, Elliott also presented the winning squad with a brand new adidas pink away shirt.
"It’s wonderful to see real recognition for them, for their school, Leicestershire as a county and Leicester City Football Club," the 50-year-old told LCFC TV following assembly.
"It was packed, it was boiling hot, everyone sat there avidly and listened to what was going on, to hear about the remarkable achievements of these young ladies."
For principal Liz Latham, meanwhile, the day was a chance for her pupils to enjoy their successes with their classmates and families in the company of a Leicester legend.
"It’s an absolutely incredible feeling, not just for the girls themselves, but for the whole school and the whole community," she said.
"Everyone’s got behind the girls with regard to this. It’s such a wonderful opportunity that they’ve been offered by Leicester City and by all the people who run the football.
"Just to be offered the opportunity to do something like this is an incredible thing. To have an actual live Leicester legend come to our academy is a wonderful thing.
"All of the community, the parents have got behind everything… we’ve had the parents of the girls here today.
"If we could have sold tickets we would have made a fortune because everyone wanted to see Matt Elliott come to Queensmead!"
The Club's relationship with Premier League Primary Stars is overseen by the LCFC Community Trust, who have provided assistance to Queensmead at every step of the way.
Ryan Bromyard, the Trust's School Sports Officer, was thrilled to see the girls have the opportunity to celebrate their success after representing the Club so proudly.
"We’ve handed out a new Leicester City shirt to all the girls because they went undefeated all the way through the competition," he explained.
"[They played] by the Premier League values: be ambitious, be inspiring, be connected, be fair.
"They just lived by all those core values – and they’re also living by the Community Trust’s core values, by showing respect, togetherness.
"We’ve empowered them to hopefully go onto the further things through this football tournament."
