The intriguing semi-final tie is scheduled to take place at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday evening (8pm BST kick-off).

Both Ndidi and Slimani starred for the countries earlier this week as both sides booked their place in the latter stages of the competition.

Ndidi, 22, was a starter for Nigeria as they overcame holders South Africa in dramatic circumstances in the Egyptian capital city.

On 27 minutes, Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze gave the Super Eagles the lead, but Bafana Bafana drew level through Bongani Zungu late on.

With seconds remaining, however, Udinese's William Troost-Ekong bundled home a loose ball to complete a shock victory for Ndidi's side.

So far this summer, Nigeria have defeated Burundi and Guinea in Group B, Cameroon in the last-16 and now South Africa as they bid to win a fourth AFCON title.

Meanwhile, Foxes team-mate Slimani, 31, has appeared twice for Algeria, finding the net in normal time once and on another occasion on penalties.

Following successes over Senegal and Kenya without Slimani's services, the Leicester forward netted in a 3-0 win over Tanzania in Group C.

That strike increased his tally to 27 goals in 61 games for the Desert Foxes, who later knocked Guinea out of the competition in the round of 16 stage.

On Thursday evening, meanwhile, Slimani emerged from the bench with 12 minutes to go as Algeria eventually sealed a 4-3 shootout success over Ivory Coast.

Sofiane Feghouli put Algeria in front in the 20th minute, but Aston Villa's Jonathan Kodjia's 62nd-minute leveller made it 1-1, sending the tie to extra-time.

In penalties, Slimani stepped up to take Algeria's second spot-kick, converting assuredly to make it 2-2, before Ivory Coast's Wilfried Bony was denied.

While Algeria's Youcef Belaïli hit the post with his country's fifth penalty, Serey Dié's miss handed a shootout victory to Algeria.

City supporters can follow updates of the last-four clash on Sunday on the Club's social media channels, before a report is posted to LCFC.com.
