Leicester City's EFL Trophy Fixtures Announced
- Leicester City’s Development Squad to face Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United and Sunderland in the EFL Trophy
- City’s youngsters will compete in Northern Group A of the EFL competition

City are one of 16 teams invited to enter an Under-21s squad into the competition, which is a chance for the Club’s youngest stars to test their skills against League 1 and League 2 opposition.
There are 64 teams in total, which are split into 16 regional groups of four teams, of which the top two will progress to the knockout stages.
Teams are awarded three points for a win and one point for a draw during the group stage, with an additional bonus point up for grabs in the event of a draw, as the match goes to a penalty shootout.
As an invited club, Leicester City Under-21s will play their three group stage games away from home.
Last season, City’s youngsters finished third in Group B, but progressed to the last 16 of the competition in their 2017/18 campaign after finishing runners-up in their group and beating Scunthorpe United 2-1 in the second round.
