Following last Monday's stalemate at champions Everton, Rovers head to Filbert Way in the first opportunity for the Blue Army to watch City's youngsters on home soil this season.

Beaglehole, the Club's Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, is excited to see Leicester's Under-23s express themselves in front of a home crowd.

"Yes, it’ll be great for the lads to play there," he told LCFC TV. "Again, like Everton, Blackburn are a good side who we found very difficult to play against last season.

It was great to get off to a start without losing out, particularly away, and it sets us up nicely for the coming weeks.

"However, we're much better now. We've got a stronger squad and we're all looking forward to the game, which is another opportunity to test ourselves against a good team.

"We go into the game confident after the game at Everton. We may have liked to play better in phases of the game, but I was delighted with their effort and the defensive performance.

"When you go into a new season, you say don't lose your first game. It was great to get off to a start without losing out, particularly away, and it sets us up nicely for the coming weeks."

Beaglehole also discussed the progress already being made by new signing Ali Reghba, an Irish forward who joined the Club earlier this summer.

"Ask Everton's centre-haves about him," he continued. "They didn’t like playing against him. He’s a rough diamond. He needs polishing, but they didn’t like playing against him.

"That desire to win every ball is something that we can build on because he’s got those attributes and now we just need to work a bit more on the finer things."

Live coverage of Monday's fixture against Blackburn Rovers begins at 6:45pm BST on LCFC TV - and is available to watch for free.
