Unlucky Not To Win, Says Reghba
- Leicester City's Development Squad were held to a 1-1 draw by Blackburn Rovers on Monday
- Ali Reghba found the net for the first time since joining the Club earlier in the summer
- The Irish forward was pleased with the performance, but disappointed not to seal three points
- City's Under-23s welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to King Power Stadium on Friday night
Reghba, 19, opened his account in 2019/20 with a tidy finish in just the second minute, but Joe Grayson levelled the scores just after the hour-mark at King Power Stadium.
As a result, City's youngsters are on two points, following last week's 0-0 stalemate at champions Everton, and Reghba admitted that the home side feel they could have sealed victory.
"We're happy but unhappy at the same time because I felt like we created enough chances to put the game away in the first half," the Irish forward told LCFC TV at full-time.
Reghba Thrilled To Be Up & Running
Ali Reghba speaks to LCFC TV after scoring his maiden goal of 2019/20 for the Development Squad on Monday night.
"You can’t take away that they’re a really good side so we’re happy with the result. I was delighted to start the season off with a goal and hopefully they’ll be plenty more to come.
"Obviously to help the team is really what I’m here to do so I’m happy to get the goal, but [the win] is definitely coming, it’s on its way.
"We've had the exact same as the first team with the results! Hopefully on Friday we’ll kick on with a win."
Ali Reghba Opens The Scoring For City's U23s
Irish forward Ali Reghba scores the first goal of the game in just the second minute.
City could secure their first three points of the season this Friday when Brighton & Hove Albion visit King Power Stadium in Premier League 2 Division 1 (7pm BST kick-off).
Reghba says the squad is optimistic about their chances, but insisted that the Seagulls are an accomplished side who will pose problems for the Foxes on Friday.
"Definitely, Brighton are a really, really good side with really good players," he added. "We know they can play so we just really need to put our heads down and prepare for that really."
