Dewsbury-Hall Eager To Make The Next Step

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has outlined his aspirations to develop further at the Football Club after signing a new three-year contract at Leicester City.
More on this story...

The 20-year-old central midfielder, who captained City’s youngsters at the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens in May, was named as the Club’s Development Squad Player of the Season last term.

A reliable and talented member of Leicester’s Under-23s squad, Dewsbury-Hall is now looking to build on the progress he’s already made to enter contention to make a first team outing.

“I’m delighted to finally get it done,” the Shepshed-based Academy graduate told LCFC TV. “Obviously, a lot of stuff goes into a signing a contract, so it’s nice to get it all over the line.

Time To Push On Now, Says Dewsbury-Hall

Academy graduate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sits down with LCFC TV after signing a new contract at the Football Club.

“Now I can concentrate on playing football and it’s exciting times ahead. I’m happy to sign and commit my future to this club for another three years.

“It was a great season last season and I’m really happy with how it went and this season, I’m looking to push on and have an even better one this season to see where it takes me.

“Obviously, I’ve signed for three years here and I’m looking to push on now, hopefully make a name for myself, get into the first team and just keep playing.

“My aspiration as a kid was to become a Premier League player so hopefully that’ll happen and I’ll see where it takes me.”

Going to the training pitch and learning new things, obviously with Brendan [Rodgers], who is a great manager, is only going to benefit me.

Dewsbury-Hall has enjoyed a preview of life in City’s first team over previous months, often training with the Club’s senior stars and Brendan Rodgers in midweek at Belvoir Drive.

That experience, coupled with his impressive performances in Premier League 2 Division 1 for the Development Squad, gives him confidence that he can one day make the next step.

“Luckily enough, I get to do a lot of training with the first team and it’s fantastic,” he added.

“Everybody’s on it and it just makes you a better player every time you’re with them, so the more sessions I can get in, the better it makes me and the more confident it makes me.

“Going to the training pitch and learning new things, obviously with Brendan [Rodgers], who is a great manager, is only going to benefit me.

I’m not looking to sit on my laurels and just be content. I want to push on now and hopefully when I get my opportunity, I’ll take that.

“You have to look back on what you’ve done well and how you’ve played, but you always have to look forward to think: ‘How can I get better? What can I do to get to the next level?’

“That’s definitely what I’m looking to do. I’m not looking to sit on my laurels and just be content. I want to push on now and hopefully when I get my opportunity, I’ll take that.”
