We're Ready For Man Utd, Says Albrighton

Following the maiden international break of the 2019/20 season, the Foxes are currently unbeaten in the Premier League and occupy a berth in the top four of England's top flight.

Albrighton, who made his first outing of the new campaign in the 3-1 success over AFC Bournemouth, believes Brendan Rodgers' squad are excited by the challenge posed in Manchester.

"If you look at it at the minute, we’re in good form and we’re confident," City's No.11 told LCFC.com over the recent pause in domestic fixtures. "They’ve struggled to turn draws into victories.

"I know a lot of people last season said before we went to Stamford Bridge that we hadn’t won there in so many years, but we went and got a victory (a 1-0 win in December 2018).

"There’s no reason why we can’t do it. We’re going there full of confidence and we’re playing with freedom. We’ve got the ability, in my opinion.

"I feel like we can hold our own against them, and probably more than that, go on and beat them."

The 29-year-old winger has also been boosted by a brief break which, for some included representing their countries, and for others represented an opportunity to recuperate and work in training.

That juncture provided the squad with an opportunity to take stock on their impressive start to the season and reaffirm their commitment to enjoying a successful campaign, Albrighton says.

"We treat every game differently," he added. "We set up differently against other teams, depending on how they look. I think it’s important to take blocks of games.

"If you take those blocks between the international breaks and look to get a certain amount of points between those breaks, then you’ve got something to work towards then.

"It’s important to not get carried away and think we’ve got so many points and we’re third in the league. You look at it as if you’ve hit your target for this month, and move onto the next one.

"I think that’s vital. At the start of the season, you don’t want to look at it as 38 games. You want to look at it as mini-seasons, and then towards the end of the season, you probably take it in blocks.

"You have a March international break, and then you have the FA Cup breaks. If you just put it into little sections, I do think it helps.

"The little section next up is difficult. We’ve got some tough games between now and the middle of October, which is the next international break. We’ll see where we are after that."
