While Brendan Rodgers' first team overcame Burnley at King Power Stadium, both the Club's Development Squad and Under-18s were also successful against Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

At Farley Way, meanwhile, Leicester City Women were beaten by Birmingham City in the Continental League Cup following their first win of the FA Women's Championship season last time around.

On Saturday, Leicester City got back to winning ways and rose to third in the Premier League standings with a resilient 2-1 victory over Burnley on the day the Club remembered Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Following a pre-match walk by thousands of Foxes fans marking the nearest home game to the anniversary of Khun Vichai's passing alongside four others, City delivered a fine display at King Power Stadium.

After falling behind to Chris Wood's header, Leicester went in at the break level through a nodded finish from Jamie Vardy, before Youri Tielemans later completed the comeback with a close-range rocket.

Following a late intervention by VAR to deny Burnley an equaliser, the Foxes ultimately sealed a fifth victory from their opening nine matches, taking them to within two points of champions Manchester City.

Callum Wright and George Hirst scored for the Club's Development Squad in a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Lamex Stadium on Friday night - their second win of the Premier League 2 Division 1 season.

After dominating for large spells, an excellent free-kick from George Thomas cannoned off the post, sparking a frantic scramble in the six-yard box for Wright to finish it in the 54nd minute in Stevenage.

With just six minutes remaining on the clock and Leicester fearing a late comeback from Spurs, the visitors made sure of their second win of 2019/20 with a smartly-worked goal, finished by Hirst.

After Wright had won possession out wide, he slipped in substitute Josh Eppiah, allowing the Belgian to cut it back across goal for Hirst to convert it confidently from close range.

Leicester City Under-18s

City's Under-18s recovered from a two-goal deficit to seal a brilliant 3-2 success over Southampton at the South Coast club's Staplewood training ground in U18 Premier League South on Saturday.

The Saints surged into a seemingly unassailable lead before the break, through goals from Jayden Smith and Jack Turner, but it merely sparked the young Foxes into life in the second half.

A neat one-two involving Dennis Gyamfi allowed Kasey McAteer to net for the young Foxes on 54 minutes before, within minutes, Leicester were level through Connor Barrett's deflected effort. 

The visitors made it 3-2 with just 15 minutes to go, meanwhile, as Terell Pennant surged down the flank and located McAteer in space to pick his spot beyond Saints 'keeper Matt Hall.

Leicester City Women

Leicester's Women's Team were defeated by Birmingham City in the Continental League Cup at Farley Way in Quorn on Sunday afternoon.

City were behind after 15 minutes as Rachel Williams capitalised on an error at the back before converting well, while Lucy Staniforth doubled the visitors' advantage before the half-time break.

In the space of two second-half minutes, meanwhile, it was four for Birmingham as Williams and then Adrienne Jordan struck, before Leicester were awarded a penalty on the hour-mark.

After herself being brought down in the area, Lachante Paul stepped up to fire her spot-kick into the roof of the net, however, Staniforth's second for Birmingham late on confirmed the 5-1 scoreline.
