The Foxes beat Newcastle United on penalties in the second round of the competition in late August, before winning 4-0 against Luton Town last month thanks to strikes from Demarai Gray, James Justin, Youri Tielemans and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Wrexham-born Ward, 26, played the full 90 minutes during the third round tie at Kenilworth Road, with City now targeting reaching the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup for the third consecutive year.

“[It will be] another tough game,” Ward said when asked about the challenge the Foxes will face on Tuesday night. “They’ll be right at it.

“I’ve played there before, it’s a small, intimidating ground and they’ll make it difficult for us, but we know what job we’ve got to go there and do and hopefully, we’ll produce another good performance.

Ward's Burton Cup Preview

A snippet from LCFC TV's interview with Foxes shot-stopper Danny Ward ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie at Burton Albion.

“You can’t take anyone for granted. We saw it ourselves for example in the FA Cup last year (vs. Newport County).

“Every team has got their own agenda, and if you’re in a competition, you want to go as far as you can and ultimately win it.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a Premier League team or in League 1 or League 2, you want to go as far as you can.”

Burton’s run to the fourth round has come as a result of victories against Port Vale, Morcambe and most recently Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth on home soil.

Again, [against Luton], it was an intimidating crowd and atmosphere, but we showed up. We showed up really well and played our own game.

“You can’t take anyone for granted in this competition,” added the shot-stopper. “We’re all professional footballers and ultimately, we all want to win games of football.

“Again, [against Luton], it was an intimidating crowd and atmosphere, but we showed up. We showed up really well and played our own game.

“They had a good performance as well, Luton, but I think 4-0 maybe flattered us slightly. I think ultimately, we got the right result in the end.”
