Gray: We Stuck Together

Demarai Gray says Leicester City stood strong to prevent Burton Albion from drawing level before going on to win the Carabao Cup Fourth Round tie 3-1 at Pirelli Stadium.

- Leicester City showed togetherness to battle to a 3-1 victory over Burton Albion on Tuesday night, according to Demarai Gray
- The Foxes No.7 set up James Maddison for the visiting side’s third goal of the night
- Kelechi Iheanacho and Youri Tielemans also found the net in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round tie

The winger, who played from start to finish, set up City’s third goal of the evening, after Kelechi Iheanacho and Youri Tielemans had earlier struck in the first period.

Liam Boyce’s effort on 52 minutes put the Foxes under a spell of brief pressure, before they sealed the triumph with 60 seconds of normal time to play through James Maddison.

Gray told LCFC TV after the victory in Staffordshire: “We got there in the end and killed the game off late on. I think we could have done it a lot earlier.

Goals: Burton Albion 1 Leicester City 3

Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison secured Leicester City's passage into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

“Letting them get a goal and get back in the game, it creates an atmosphere and the fans got behind them a bit.

“I think they had a little spell in the game, but Wardy (Danny Ward) has pulled off a good save in the game and we haven’t crumbled – we’ve stayed together and, as I said, we got the goal at the end and now we’re through to the next round.”

Now into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup for the third year running, Gray believes City have the confidence to challenge any team they are drawn against.

He continued: “Since I’ve been at the Club, we’ve always had a tough team in the quarters – either Man City or Liverpool.

Consistency Pleases Gray

Demarai Gray gave his reflections on the 3-1 victory over Burton Albion and City’s progression into the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.

“But I think now we’re a team that no matter who we get, we can challenge and beat, and I think a lot of teams fear us now.

“One of our objectives is to get to a cup final and get a cup and a medal, because we’re more than capable. We have our identity, and everyone is starting to fear us. There are no limits to where we can go.

“They’ve seen what we can do on a weekly basis and we’re getting consistent. As a team, we’re very strong, and we’re a very good bunch.

"We’re working hard in training and the manager keeps our focus there. As I say, it’s about consistency.”
