It is now over a year ago that we had to say goodbye to our beloved chairman, but Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's legacy will never be diminished.
The fight, the hunger and the determination that he instilled within our club remains as prevalent today as it did nearly a decade ago when he and his family took over.
This idea was encapsulated perfectly on Friday 25 October, on a dark, drizzly night on the south coast.
We went into the match with a good record in the past two seasons at St. Mary’s Stadium, winning 4-1 and 2-1 in our last two matches, but no one could have predicted what would follow.
In recent years, the words ‘Leicester’ and ‘record-breakers’ have been synonymous with each other. That night would re-introduce the pair once again.
The whistle blew and the game began. Unbeknown to us, history was in the making.
Goals: Southampton 0 Leicester City 9
All nine goals in one place, including two hat-tricks, from a record-breaking night for Leicester City against Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium.
Our intensity never faltered, our pressing was relentless, and our attacks came in constant waves.
When we opened the scoring through the unlikeliest of sources as Southampton were reduced to ten men, we sensed something special was happening.
Despite the constant rainfall, it was in fact goals that flooded proceedings.
Khun Vichai’s wish was that we give it our all and not for one second did we lose that desire.
His name echoed around the stadium and his philosophy dictated our play. As we always do, we played for him.
The Leicester motto 'Foxes Never Quit' is usually recited when we fight back from a losing position, but a new meaning was created that night under the lights.
Before we knew it, the half-time whistle had been sounded and all four corners of the stadium stood in shock at what we had just witnessed.
We became only the second team in Premier League history to lead by five goals at half time, and the records did not stop there.
Rodgers Delighted By Ruthless Foxes
Speaking to LCFC TV, manager Brendan Rodgers hailed Leicester City's ruthlessness following the record-breaking 9-0 win at Southampton on Friday.
Another four goals were added to the score line with a level of ruthlessness that is rarely seen on a football pitch.
That result, that 9-0 demolition, has become the joint-highest Premier League win ever, as well as the highest-ever away win in the top-flight of English football in history.
That was a statement to the rest of the league.
We have seen the Leicester blue draped over the Premier League trophy and heard the UEFA Champions League anthem bless Filbert Way. We all dream for more.
The final score inevitably made the headlines, but the moment that truly resonates occurred with 60 minutes on the clock.
To see the commemorative scarves raised in The Boss’ honour, to hear his song sung with pure emotion while his team pushed for their eighth goal is a moment that I will never forget.
Khun Vichai was the true driving force behind our success and our aim to carry out his vision under the guidance of Khun Top will take us to great places once again.
Thank you again Boss, for letting us live our wildest dreams. You will always be in our hearts.
