Söyüncü: We Approach Every Game Differently
- Leicester City are Crystal Palace's visitors at Selhurst Park on Sunday (2pm kick-off)
- Brendan Rodgers' men have started the season superbly and are currently third in the Premier League
- Çağlar Söyüncü says the Foxes must approach each game individually in order to have a successful season
- The Turkey international also discusses the 'pride' he feels to play within such a talented squad
City head into the 11th matchday of the 2019/20 campaign sat in third place in the table following last Friday's extraordinary 9-0 win over Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium.
The record-breaking nature of that success has alerted many Premier League followers to Leicester's potential under Brendan Rodgers, but Söyüncü insists they are remaining grounded.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's visit to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, a third successive away game in all competitions for the Foxes, the 23-year-old says every fixture requires unique preparation.
Söyüncü Keen To Continue Good Form
Çağlar Söyüncü talks ahead of the Foxes' trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Sunday...
"We feel that (winning at Southampton) was last week and now we have a new opponent," he said. "We approach every game differently and we would like to win again, win lots of games, so that’s our aim.
"It’s too early to say anything [about our targets], to be honest. We would like to win every game, but it’s too early to say. We look at every match individually and prepare for it accordingly.
"To say that we will finish in the top four or the top six, it’s very early days to say that. It’s only been 10 weeks. Like you say, it’s a very young team.
"I’ve got all these young mates playing alongside me and I’m very proud to be part of this team and we will do our best to finish at the top."
However, Söyüncü admits beating an established Premier League side in such an emphatic fashion is an indicator of the Club's bright future, while also praising Rodgers' managerial credentials.
"This shows what a great team we have and a great friendship we have, on and off the pitch," he continued. "The team spirit is very high. It also shows how much work we put into it.
"He’s (Brendan Rodgers) got a lot of experience, he’s a great coach, a great manager. Basically, since he came, we started doing a lot better and I believe that, in time, we’ll keep that going."
