City's Youngsters To Face Doncaster In EFL Trophy

Leicester City's Development Squad will face a home tie against Sky Bet League 1 side Doncaster Rovers in Round 2 of the Trophy.

The Foxes, who followed up a penalty shootout win at Scunthorpe United with victories over Grimsby Town and Sunderland, won Northern Group A.

Doncaster, meanwhile, were runners up in Group H, defeating Lincoln City, but narrowly losing out to both Rotherham United and Manchester United's Under-21s.

City are one of 32 sides to contest the second round of the Trophy, with all fixtures due to be played during the week commencing Monday 2 December, 2019.

This is the third time in four years that Leicester's youngsters have reached the knockout stages of the competition as one of 16 teams invited to enter an Under-21s squad.

A confirmed date, kick-off time, venue and ticket information for the Round 2 clash with Doncaster Rovers will be posted to in due course.
