Creative Writing Day at King Power Stadium

Sparkenhoe Primary School Celebrate LCFC-Themed Creative Writing Day

Earlier this month, Leicester City in the Community welcomed pupils to a creative writing day at King Power Stadium, courtesy of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.

- Leicester City in the Community hosted an inspiring writing event for primary school pupils
- A Premier League Primary Stars partner, Sparkenhoe Primary School had a number of workshops around day-to-day events at King Power Stadium
- Each workshop involved different types of techniques and varied amounts of writing
- Pupils were given writing-based career paths

Over 20 pupils from the Year 6 group at Sparkenhoe Primary School were invited to the home of Leicester City to experience a Foxes-themed writing workshop at various iconic areas of the stadium.

Those workshops were staged in the media suite and home changing room, while the day ended with descriptive tributes to our beloved late Chairman after visiting the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Garden.

The students, all of whom impressed Leicester City in the Community staff with their talent, were also given career advice during the day-long session, to help them think of their future aspirations.

During a press conference-inspired session, Jess Boulter, English Coordinator at Sparkenhoe, said: “The children have experienced a variety of activities and have been able to develop a range of writing skills.

“Being able to write in the perspective of a sports journalist has enabled them to have first-hand experience. All of our pupils have been fully engaged and inspired by [LCitC Coach] Ryan and the stadium tour.

“The writing that they have produced today will support them to apply it to their future writing.”

After being nominated as the best descriptive piece of the day, here is Sajidah’s descriptive written piece on Khun Vichai:

You have been a big inspiration to us.
You were one of a kind, a generous loving man.
You will forever be in our hearts.
We shall pay our respects to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Kaveporn Punpare, Nusara Suknamai, Eric Swaffer and Izabela Roza Lechowicz.
In the loving memory, to all of these generous people.
