Northern Ireland international defender Jonny Evans has given an in-depth interview to CITY Matchday Magazine, discussing Leicester City’s form to date, why his experience is of benefit to his team-mates, and the impact training has had on performances.

Evans, 31, has played in all 14 of the Foxes’ Premier League fixtures this season, and has helped them register 32 points during that period.
A consistent performer for Brendan Rodgers’ outfit, Evans spoke at length about their success in 2019/20, and why City are able to grow into games thanks to their match fitness.
“We train very hard, so our fitness is good,” Evans told CITY Matchday Magazine ahead of the clash with Watford.
That sort of running can take it out of your legs and then when you come into the defensive action, you sometimes just can’t quite get there.

“That helps, but when you’re controlling the ball and moving the opposition around, they have to do a lot more running than you.
“It’s a different type of running as well. When you don’t have the ball, you have to constantly fill gaps and it’s not enjoyable.
“That sort of running can take it out of your legs and then when you come into the defensive action, you sometimes just can’t quite get there.
“With the way we’re passing and moving the ball, it’s wearing teams down.
