Justin’s Premier League & Filbert Way Debut Delight
- James Justin says he concentrated on remaining calm during his Premier League debut for the Foxes

- The young defender registered an assist to set up James Maddison in injury time
Also making his King Power Stadium bow having featured for City away from home on two occasions in the Carabao Cup, James came off the bench with 10 minutes of normal time remaining to help his side see out their seventh-straight Premier League success.
However, he proved to be a significant forward threat, too, and his flick-on header in injury time earned him an assist on his Premier League debut as James Maddison went on to score the Foxes’ second of the game.
Justin told LCFC TV: “I’m over moon to obviously finally make my Premier League debut. It’s been a long time coming, to be fair, and I’ve just been waiting for my chance to get on and tonight, I got on and I’m glad we got the three points.
“Hopefully, I’ll get a little ‘one’ in the assist tally for that header!

“It wasn’t too bad. I was just trying to stay calm when I came on and hopefully, I showed what I can do in a little cameo. Hopefully there’s more to come.”
Deployed in a left wing-back role in the closing stages against Watford, Justin drew on his experience while at former side Luton Town, who he joined City from in the summer.
“I was a left-sided wing-back and I’ve played it before, to be fair, at Luton when I was a bit younger,” he continued.
“It’s obviously put me in good stead for when I came on. It just shows that I’m not only pigeon-holed to one position. I can play in a few.”
Justin felt the manner in which Leicester secured the three points was particularly pleasing, as they were forced to wait patiently for their opener, which came from the spot after Jamie Vardy converted a penalty won by Jonny Evans.
“We were nowhere near our best tonight,” he added. “I feel that was easy to see from anyone watching. It’s just like what we wanted to do. Good teams get the three points no matter what, or no matter how we play. All of the squad contributed to that tonight.
“I think it’s seven on the bounce now and we’ve never done that before in the Premier League. Hopefully we can continue that going into Sunday’s game against Villa.”
