The Foxes are in the hunt for a Club record-breaking eighth-straight Premier League win as they prepare to take on Dean Smith’s outfit at Villa Park.

Portugal international Ricardo – an ever-present member of City’s squad in the league this term –  says his side must show quality and team work in the West Midlands if they are to secure another three points.

“We are doing a good job and we are playing well and winning,” Ricardo said ahead of Sunday’s match. “We have to keep going like this.

“It’s the team work, the team spirit and believing in what we do, believing in our quality. The work of the coach is important, too, to set us in the same direction. I think that’s the most important thing.

“When you win, that gives you confidence. I think with seven wins, of course, we have the confidence, but we know that the things we did in the past, it doesn’t count anything for the future. We have to keep going like this, keep working and don’t take anything for granted.”

They have a good team, good players. It’s difficult to play away because they have good supporters from what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen.

Ricardo is yet to sample the experience of playing at Villa Park – one of the country’s most historic stadiums – but is looking forward to it nonetheless.

“I think they are playing well,” he continued. “They have a good team, good players. It’s difficult to play away because they have good supporters from what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen.

“It’s good, so it’s an exciting game and we are hoping to bring the three points [back] and to have a good game.”
