Wright: Spirits Are High

Midfielder Callum Wright catches up with LCFC TV at full-time following a 2-1 win over Everton for Leicester City's Development Squad.

Reflecting on City's eighth successive win, Wright said: "We’re delighted! It keeps the run going. It's eight on the bounce now, the same as the first team, so we’re looking to follow in their footsteps.

"Everyone’s happy around the training ground. We’re just in very good form right now and spirits are high, so it’s easy to keep that happiness going to be fair, just so long as we don’t get complement.

"It’s always a tough game against Everton, so it was great to get the win and we were comfortable in the end."

Wright was delighted to get his name on the scoresheet too, playing a key role in keeping the momentum flowing through Leicester City's Under-23s ranks.

On Friday, a trip to Lancashire could see Wright go up against Blackburn Rovers, the club where his career picked up speed following a spell with Tranmere Rovers.

"I’m delighted with the goal," he added. "It’s easier when the team’s playing well and playing the stuff that we are. It was a great ball from Mitch [Clark] and all I had to do was put it in the back of the net.

"Going back to my home ground, but obviously we’re in good form, but I’m looking forward to it so it couldn’t be any better time to go back there."
