Petty Targeting Another Win At Blackburn
- Ben Petty previews Friday’s Premier League 2 encounter with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park (7pm kick-off)
- The fixture will be broadcast live on LCFC TV from 6:45pm
- The Development Squad are currently third in Premier League 2
The Club’s Assistant Senior Professional Development Phase Coach has seen the Foxes climb the Premier League 2 standings, where they now occupy third position prior to the trip to Ewood Park.
Having beaten Everton 2-1 at Holmes Park already this week, the Club’s youngsters will be aiming for another triumph during their penultimate fixture of 2019.
“We’re delighted with the form, we’re delighted with the way the lads are training,” Petty told LCFC TV. “They’re buying into it. Those lads that are not starting, they’re doing really well, they’re pushing.
Goals: Leicester City U23s 2 Everton U23s 1
Enjoy the goals as Leicester City’s Development Squad made it eight wins in a row with a 2-1 victory over Everton at Holmes Park.
“Friday night’s going to be really tough, away at Blackburn. We got hammered there after having a man sent off, so we’ve got that in the back of our minds, and let’s see if we can get another win before Christmas.”
Monday’s win over 2018/19 Premier League 2 champions Everton was particularly pleasing for Petty, who believes the Development Squad displayed quality in Whetstone.
Wright: Spirits Are High
Midfielder Callum Wright catches up with LCFC TV at full-time following a 2-1 win over Everton for Leicester City's Development Squad.
Reflecting on a difficult match, Petty added: “It was one of those at 0-0, it was probably going to be a set-play or something that got the game going for us and then I think you saw the real quality that we had with the second goal.
“It was a wonderful move and a fantastic finish, so two very different goals, but again, we’ll take them!”
