Leicester City’s new ‘From Leaves to Lively’ Thai Dye collection, borne from age-old techniques from Thailand’s rural communities, is now on sale in the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium and on shop.LCFC.com.

‘Beauty in imperfection’ is a fitting description for the Foxes’ latest Thai Natural Dye range, part of King Power’s most recent community project, which has returned to Baan Kiriwong in Nakhon Si Thammarat province to celebrate pride in the local knowledge of the region’s inhabitants.
A village that previously suffered extensive damage in the 2004 earthquake and tsunami, the persistence and dedication of the local people has seen their home come alive once more with an abundance of nature – a trait harnessed in the Leicester City collection that launches today.
Using familiar items commonplace in their region alongside local, indigenous wisdom, the villagers have given life to new creations, resulting in a high-quality product that generates sustainable income for the community.
“This is the charm of the Baan Kiriwong tie-dye fabrics, created using natural materials such as leaves, bark and heartwood, all of which provide soft, pastel tones.”
The light brown, a unique tie-dye colour of Baan Kiriwong, comes from the sato pods famous in the southern region of Thailand – one of a variety of shades that also includes blue-grey from indigo leaves, yellow from Indian almond leaves and peach from the mangosteen leaf.
The unique, patterned fabrics of Baan Kiriwong are formed by wrapping stones and other coarse objects with cloth – then tying them in a back and forth pattern with rope – leaving space for the colour to soak into the fabric.
Leicester City duo Ricardo Pereira and Çağlar Söyüncü were recently on hand to model the ‘From Leaves to Lively’ Thai Dye collection, which features long and short-sleeved t-shirts, caps and drawstring bags, all of which sport the dazzling patterns and palates that are unique to this special collection.
