Morgan (groin) and Benković (knee) were both substituted during the Foxes’ Emirates FA Cup Third Round victory over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Vardy, meanwhile, has missed City’s last three fixtures due to a minor calf problem, but is available for selection against Dean Smith’s side.

“We’re pretty much the same,” said Rodgers of his squad. “Wes and Filip got injured in our last game, so Wes will probably miss next couple of games and start training next week.

“Filip was more precautionary and will be able to join us in training over the next couple of days.

"Both of those aren’t going to be as long-term as we first thought.

“Jamie [Vardy] is fine. He unfortunately missed the game at the weekend, but he trained on Sunday and since that, so he’s absolutely fine.

The players have been brilliant up until this point. We’ve had away games in every round of this tournament, so it’s nice to have this first leg at home.

When quizzed on City’s chances of reaching the Carabao Cup Final, Rodgers underlined the importance of his side concentrating all of their efforts on their two-legged encounter with Villa.

He added: “We have to get in the final first – that’s our objective. We know we’ve got a tough game over two legs and Aston Villa are a side that can hurt us.
