Praet: Recover Quickly From Saints Frustration

Freshening up and looking ahead to upcoming fixtures is key for Leicester City following Saturday's disappointing defeat by Southampton, says goalscorer Dennis Praet.

Praet's maiden Foxes goal put the home side in front early on at King Power Stadium, but Stuart Armstrong and Danny Ings struck later on to seal all three points for the Saints.

The Belgium international had no complaints about the result, but stressed the importance of City taking stock and swiftly looking forward to next Sunday's visit to Burnley (2pm GMT kick-off).

"It wasn’t our best performance," he told LCFC TV. "It’s a hard loss for us because we don’t like to lose at home, but we weren’t at our best, so I think we didn’t really deserve to win today.

Praet: We Weren't At Our Best

Dennis Praet spoke to LCFC TV following the Foxes' 2-1 defeat to Southampton at King Power Stadium.

"We come from a very long period with a lot of games. Every week, we had two games, so I’m happy that we can have a rest for one week now.

"It will be important and now we can freshen up a little bit and go 100 per cent for the next game."

Naturally, Praet was nonetheless proud to register his first goal for the Football Club and paid tribute to Jamie Vardy for the precise nature of his assist.

"It felt really good at that moment, of course, because it was the 1-0 but after the game I feel mostly sad because we couldn’t win," the 25-year-old continued.

"It was a perfect pass, a perfect assist from Jamie. It was really well done from him.

"It feels good for me, good for my confidence also I think, and we will see next week that we will be there back as a team and get those three points."
