Beaglehole: City's Under-23s Relishing Brighton Clash

Coach Steve Beaglehole believes Leicester City's Development Squad are eagerly anticipating facing Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday (7pm kick-off).

The young Foxes, who have won 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions, in fact lost out to the Seagulls earlier in the season at King Power Stadium.

However, City's youngsters are now on a roll on three fronts - Premier League 2 Division 1, the Leasing.com Trophy and the Premier League International Cup.

Last time out, on Tuesday, Leicester sealed an excellent 2-1 success at Sky Bet League 1 outfit Tranmere Rovers to seal a place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy.

Beaglehole, the Club's Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, believes the Under-23s are extremely keen to continue their brilliant run of form in Brighton.

As we keep saying, the games programme is fantastic because that is a really good game for us.

Foxes fans can watch the action unfold for free on LCFC TV, with former City defender Sean St Ledger on commentary, from 6:45pm on Monday evening.

"We relish it," Beaglehole said. "We relish every game, we look forward to every game, and the Tranmere game's history now so we move on.

"As we keep saying, the games programme is fantastic because that is a really good game for us.

"They’ve got some really good players and it’s a totally different test to Tranmere and you’ve got to adapt."

Beaglehole was also thrilled with the toughness on show from Leicester's youngsters at Tranmere, especially goalscorers George Hirst and Admiral Muskwe.

He added: "In the first minute of the game, the first ball down the side, that was a [heavy challenge] on Hirsty and I thought: ‘Aye, aye, they’re going to try and roughen him up’.

"To be fair, he loves it, he relishes in that. I was really, really pleased for him and Ade because they took some stick, elbows in, backing in.

"Ade was great at that too. We keep talking about development, it’s a development group, and what a game for their development."
