Rodgers: We'll Be Back

LCFC TV spoke to Brendan Rodgers after a a 2-1 defeat to the Saints at King Power Stadium on Saturday.

"Like we’ve always done when we’ve had a defeat, we’ll analyse it," he said. "We'll look at the details and then we’ll look to improve and get three points in our next game.

"This isn’t a group that’s complacent at all. It was always going to be tough, especially where we are in our schedule, but we just didn’t play well.

"That’s on us and well done to Southampton. They nicked the game at the end and we know that we didn’t play so well.

"The guys gave their best, but it wasn’t enough, and we weren’t at our best. I have total faith and trust in the squad that we have."

Two weeks into the January transfer window, Rodgers is relaxed, due to his satisfaction with the current squad of players, but says City will look to see if signings are possible.

"We know where we want to improve," he continued. "If we can, then we will, but if not, then we’ll stay with what we’ve got. The boys have been brilliant up until now and they’ll continue to work.

"They’re such an honest group, so we’ll take this on the chin, take our medicine, and then go away and analyse where we can be better.

"Let’s give credit to Southampton because I always felt this was going to be a dangerous game and it proved to be that."
