Josh Eppiah's 10th-minute strike, the Belgian's sixth goal of the season, sealed a 12th win in 13 outings in all competitions for the Foxes at the AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre.

City's youngsters moved up to second in Premier League 2 Division 1, while they also remain in the Leasing.com Trophy and the Premier League International Cup.

Ughelumba, who was awarded Sean St Ledger's Man of the Match on LCFC TV, was thrilled with the nature of Leicester's victory and believes they could in fact have scored more.

"We’re delighted!" he said at full-time. "I think in the first half we controlled the game, I felt like we dominated the first half, moved the ball well and created a lot of chances for ourselves.

Ughelumba: The Main Thing Is The Mentality

Defender Calvin Ughelumba speaks to LCFC TV following a 1-0 win for Leicester City's Development Squad at Brighton on Monday.

"It was only a matter of time before we were going to score. The second half was a bit scrappy, it was hard to start playing again and obviously [we] changed formation.

"I think we dealt with it well, we dealt with the conditions well and it was good to come out on top and keep a clean sheet.

"As I said before, in the first half we created quite a few chances, I think we were unlucky not to put some of the chances away.

"If we put them away then it’s a different story, we come out in the second half more chilled and we can control the game and the speed of the game.

"At 1-0, the other team has always got a chance, a lucky nick and it could be a goal.

The first half was hard, we had to play it on the floor because all our clearances kept coming back onto us so we just had to play clever and try and use the weather to our best advantage.

"So I think we did well to keep a clean sheet and now it’s in the past and we’ll be looking forward to our next game and I know we’ll be out on the field trying to get better. "

Asked about being picked out by a former Foxes star, Ughelumba was naturally delighted, while he also revealed how Leicester attempted to keep the ball low in order to beat the elements.

"I’ll take it!" he continued. "It’s great to have someone recognise you playing but I’m happy for the boys as well.

"I thought we all did well in the first half and we all did well to come out with a clean sheet considering the weather. It’s hard!
