Despite only having played one fixture in Group A, the Foxes are second in their pool, while Villarreal, Dinamo Zagreb and Arsenal have all contested more fixtures at this stage in the competition.

Previewing the clash - which will be available live on LCFC TV from 6:45pm on Friday - the Club's Senior Professional Development Phase Coach outlined the importance of recovery work.

"We look forward to all the games and it’s a different test," Beaglehole said ahead of the Under-23s' second match in five days. "I hope it’s a lot better conditions than [Monday] night!

"It’s another great game for us in a matter of days. The thing is now it’s [about] getting the recovery. We’ve lost one or two players out [on loan] now, the squad’s got a little bit smaller.

"So, we’ve got to make sure that they recuperate and they’re ready for Friday. I think Matty James deserves a big pat on the back.

"I thought he was fantastic [on Monday]. Again, he’s had so many injuries. He’s been brilliant in the dressing room and the lads have got a lot of respect for him and the staff have."

Josh Eppiah slotted home the winner in the opening minutes at the Amex Elite Performance Centre in a 1-0 victory over Brighton on Monday night.

Seeing Leicester's youngsters go on such an intrepid run of results has delighted Beaglehole and he believes it is a testament to their mentality, both in games and training.

"The boss (Brendan Rodgers) keeps talking about a winning mentality and these lads have certainly got that at the moment," he added.

"It’s a great start to the calendar [year] and to be in all competitions at the moment… again, we didn’t have the best of starts and we’ve dug in.

"We’ve worked hard and a lot of people deserve a lot of pats on the back."
