Leicester City travel to Griffin Park for a 12:45pm kick-off against the Sky Bet Championship promotion hopefuls four days after defeating West Ham United at King Power Stadium.

Vardy was substituted during that success with a problem in his glute and, speaking to the media on Friday, Rodgers revealed the 33-year-old will receive treatment back in Leicester on Saturday.

While Papy Mendy (knee) could face between four to six weeks out, Rodgers is hopeful that Vardy will be available for next Tuesday's Carabao Cup Semi-Final second leg tie at Aston Villa (7:45pm kick-off).

He is much better. Directly after the game, he was tight and sore, but today was much better. Hopefully he’ll be involved.

Brendan Rodgers

"He’s obviously not available for the weekend and there will be a question mark for Tuesday," he said. "It’s certainly not as serious as we first thought.

"It’s not his hamstring, so we’re hopeful for Tuesday, but there's a little bit of work to do. He’ll get some work in with the medical team. He’ll stay with them for the weekend.

We’ll have a strong, energetic team that can hopefully get us into the next round.

Brendan Rodgers

Discussing the potential for making changes to his starting XI this weekend, Rodgers insisted that the line-up he selects will have the required strength and energy.

"The key coming into the game is picking a team that allows for intensity and energy, but also bearing in mind the important game on Tuesday.

"We’ll have a strong, energetic team that can hopefully get us into the next round."
