The Belgium star has been a regular performer for Brendan Rodgers’ men this season, and this weekend will be aiming to make his 36th appearance in 2019/20 for club and country when the current Premier League champions visit King Power Stadium.
With City sitting third in the division with just under a third of the season to play, Tielemans is confident that his side will regain their consistency following a challenging spell of fixtures.
Tielemans told CITY Matchday Magazine: “The feeling is the same as it has been all season. We know that we have a good team with great players, so it’s just a case of us getting back on track by winning games.
“When we get the results, everything will be fine as before. We’ve been a bit inconsistent in the results lately, but the (0-0) draw with Wolves was a good draw.
“They’re very good at home, they play well, they’re very compact, very defensive and very strong. I think we had a good mentality and we got a point. We need to carry on with that mentality and get the wins we want.”
City’s best-ever start to a Premier League season saw them take their opponents by storm before the turn of the year, and now, Tielemans is hoping their mental strength will once again begin to return positive results.
He added: “The confidence is still there. We’re not forgetting what we’ve done since the beginning of the season. We’ve worked very hard and we’ve won a lot of games.
“We’re still there at the top of the table, so we need to carry on. It’s all about results now and we’re in the right place mentally.”
